I learned to trust the guide. I was photographing my husband in the everglades years ago and it was so miserably hot. The water looked like glass and lemon sharks were everywhere. I asked the guide if I could take a quick dip. He told me when to get in the water. About five minutes after I got back in the boat one of the sharks stole my husband's redfish he had just hooked. The guide just looked at us and said that he had never seen that.

For most wild pheasant I prefer my 12 ga AYA #2 choked IC & M loaded with 1 1/8 oz of # 6 hard shot. That also shoots dense enough for most bobwhite when both pheasant and bobs can be hunted at the same time. Also good on prairie chickens, sharptails and huns.

When the birds are holding well I prefer carrying my Arrieta 20 ga choked CYL and IC and loaded with 1 oz of #7. It gets on the birds a little faster than the 12 ga and if I do my part, "if they fly, they die".

All this depends of course on how well my little GSP does. He has learned on pheasants that once I get withing a few yards to back out and move around to block pheasants from running.

KT, Congrats on this. I trust it will be good for everyone in the long run though I am sure it is a major pain to uproot. I can't wait to get out there with you!
